Pessimist x Optimist

'Explanatory Style' Explained

'Explanatory Style' or 'Attributional Style' it's how people define things that happen in their lifes. There are some aspects of how people normally explain the situation. These aspects can make the people fell if they're pessimist or optimist:

Stable vs. Unstable: Does time make things the same or does time change things?

Global vs. Local: Is a situation an ilustration of what happens in your life or just a part of it?

Internal vs. External: Do you think things are caused by your attitude or by something with a outside force?

Realists see everything from a real point of view, but most people aren't realist. The biggest part of the population is a lot optimistic or a lot pessimistic. They look like this:

Optimist

Optimists explain the events as having happened because of their happiness or excitement. They think that good things will happen in the future, and they also think when bad things happen it's not their responsability. They think that they're isolated and there's nothing to do with other areas.

Pessimist

Pessimist think differently from optimists. They believe that negative things happen because of them. They believe that if you make one mistake, terrible things will come for you. They believe that optimistic things just come once in a lifetime. They see making mistakes as inevitable.

A pessimist would see a promotion as a lucky event that won't happen ever again, and may think that is a inspection. Not being promoted for them is just a way to explain that they're not skilled enough. She'd except not to be promoted again.
